Boracic Acid Dosage and Inductor Lining Buffer Layer

What is the effect of the amount of boracic acid on the buffer layer of the inductor lining? Do you know? Next, China Unique comes to answer for you. I hope everyone will understand it carefully.

The buffer layer is in the form of powder on the periphery of the semi-sintered layer of the furnace lining. Like the spring pad or the expansion joint of the bridge, it acts to relieve the stress which is mainly caused by the heat expansion and contraction. Once the sintered layer and the semi-sintered layer produce stress cracks, the molten iron leaks. At this time, due to the effect of filling cracks in powder to prevent the leakage of molten iron, the safety of production is guaranteed, the service life of furnace lining is improved, and the addition of boracic acid will affect the buffer layer. And the addition of boracic acid will affect the buffer layer.

Boracic acid plays a role in glazing in the furnace lining of the induction furnace. It is the bond between the sand binder and the sand and the main element for forming the semi-sinter of the sintered layer. Excessive addition of boracic acid makes the crucible (furnace lining) sintered layer semi-sintered layer thicker and powdery buffer layer thinned or even disappeared. As a result, the crack of the lining which caused by cooling shrinkage extends over the entire furnace wall, reducing the service life of the lining.

When the high-temperature molten metal is smelted, the lining relies on its own sintering and chemical changes, not by the action of boracic acid. A large amount of boracic acid only reduces the buffer layer. The semi-sintered layer is thickened. Of course, if the thermal insulation layer is too thick, the semi-sintered layer will be thickened and the buffer layer will be thinned. Therefore,  China Unique does not think that the thickness of the thermal insulation layer should be pursued blindly.
